It took Netflix 3.5 years.

It took Twitter 2 years.

It took Facebook 10 months.

It took Spotify 5 months.

It took Instagram 2.5 months.

It took GPT Chat 5 days to get 1 million users.

The skyrocketing interest in the new AI shows the technology’s rapid adoption and popularity among users. Indeed, something you shouldn’t miss. After all, GPT chat is not only revolutionary in its advanced technology. It is a major advancement mainly because it brings artificial intelligence into our offices, living rooms, and literally our pockets. Although AI development scenarios often evoke fear and uncertainty among people, right now Chat GPT can be your good servant and you its master

Chat GPT: AI for everyone – you as well

The engineers at Open AI made Chat GPT available to the public on November 30, 2022, and the interest in trying it out has exceeded all expectations. All you have to do to try it out is log in and start talking, just like in the chat room. For now, Open AI is mainly collecting feedback, so the software is free.

Now, you might think that AI doesn’t concern you. That it’s a gadget for tech enthusiasts. And that it will take years before it infiltrates your life. Give us a few minutes and we’ll show you how this AI can already be useful to you – starting now. It will save you time, help you handle routine tasks and even entertain you.

After all, all signs point to AI becoming a regular part of our working and everyday lives sooner than we thought. So don’t get caught off guard.

Chat GPT: Your new best friend or assistant

Chat GPT is an artificial intelligence capable of communicating in human-like language. It’s a great advancement in the field of chatbots because it is able to adapt its response to the context of the conversation. Chat GPT can be your new companion, but more importantly, your assistant. Since it will only do exactly what you tell it to do, you’ll see how it sharpens your ability to express yourself directly and clearly and delegate tasks.

Take advantage of its abilities and make it your personal assistant:

  • Study
    • for teachers
      • creates test questions, grades tests and writes personal feedback for your students
    • for students
      • gives a summary of a book or article, explains commonly known principles, phenomena and events
  • Content creation and writing
    • for marketers
      • automates customer communications, recommends a basic strategy and plan, analyzes data and identifies patterns and trends
    • for copywriters
      • removes writer’s block, writes basic copy such as an article, email or headline, edits and proofreads, suggests ideas for content creation, partially works with tonality and keywords
    • for writers
      • removes writer’s block, writes or completes a story, suggests ideas
    • for anyone
      • write an email, letter or contract
  • Translator
    • simultaneously works in different languages
    • translates between all commonly known languages
  • Entertainment
    • games
      • invents and plays a game with you with given rules
    • jokes
      • makes up a joke for you
  • Information
    • tips
      • suggests tips according to your taste, provides instructions
    • research
      • provides background information and an overview of the topic
  • Companion
    • GPT Chat mainly talks to you – it works like a much more advanced Siri

What will you try out first?

Chat GPT: Average graduate

Think of Chat GPT as the average young graduate: they need clear instructions and don’t work out anything autonomously. They can put together handouts and collect data. They make mistakes but are unable to admit to ‘I don’t know’. They always look confident, even when they’re caught off guard. You can’t rely on them 100% and they will never admit to making a mistake.

In writing, they fail to highlight what’s important and instead write rambling, formal sentences full of useless fluff. Their results resemble school papers – long-winded and boring. For a copy-focused AI like copy.ai or Jasper, it’s no challenge, let alone for experienced human copywriters.

On top of that, you have to remember that Chat GPT knowledge base ends in 2020. At least for now. Since it’s not connected to the internet, you can’t use it as an information search engine. It also doesn’t yet handle more advanced tasks like comparing, evaluating or interpreting data.

It is not currently ethically biased and governed by any ethical standards, but abides by the law. So if you ask it for the 10 tricks to break into someone else’s locked car, it won’t tell you. But it’s easy to fool it. Once you justify your request on moral grounds – for example, you want to rescue a child from a hot car – it will readily oblige.

Chat GPT: Talk to it

Chat GPT is optimized for dialogue. So talk to it. As if a real human was sitting on the other side

When it doesn’t respond the first time the way you expected, just keep asking additional questions. Just like in a normal conversation.

The quality of the answer is often primarily dependent on the accuracy of the input.

Don’t worry if you quickly realize it’s not as easy to aptly describe what you want as you first expected. There are many jokes running especially in the IT industry on this topic.

DALL-E 2: Paint like Picasso

You can see for yourself how challenging it is to write the right prompt – the right instructions for AI – when you generate your own image with AI. For this, the engineers at Open AI have created DALL-E 2. If you’re already familiar with Midjourney, you’ll find DALL-E 2 even easier.

Remember – the more precise the specifications, the better. Your prompt might look like this:

Picasso-style painting of a young woman from the ’60s at a rock festival, dancing, smiling, surrounded by crowds of people. Stage with musicians in the back.

How did it turn out?

And so you have a tip for an original fun time. It was a big hit in our office and we had a lot of fun with the outputs from both AIs. Try asking them to draw a picture of yourself. Just remember to watch the clock from time to time, it’s an addictive fidget.

Chat GPT: Programmer

No, programmers are not about to lose their jobs anytime soon. After all, they are best trained to communicate with machines and explain what they want from them. And so make the best use of it for their work.

We asked Chat GPT about how it will be useful to developers, and its answer actually makes sense.

We tried Chat GPT for more challenging work, which senior developers handle, and had only partial success. But we expected that, after all, it is only at the beginning of its stellar career.

You can also use Chat GPT’s programming capabilities if you’re familiar with technology but don’t code yourself. What you do need to do is explain to the robot what you want it to doClearly and specifically. When working with AI, that’s really the most important thing. Be detailed about how you envisage the answer.

Mac users will appreciate this command to close open ports on the server against possible hacker attacks.

GPT Chat: The future of an AI-powered world is here

And what is Chat GPT? Imagine an advanced chatbot that you know today from customer support at e-shops or your bank. The abbreviation GPT stands for generative pre-trained transformer, which we could interpret as a robot that is trained to simulate human speech, i.e. to chat with you on whatever topic you give it.

The development in Open AI is progressing at an incredible pace, thanks to the huge investment and feedback from millions of users that AI is learning from. In fact, as a user, you can rate the AI’s responses and thereby teach the AI yourself.

The company Open AI was founded in 2015 by a group of well-known and experienced Silicon Valley entrepreneurs including Elon Musk (Neuralink, Tesla), Sam Altman (YCombinator), Peter Thiel (PayPal) and Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn). They have invested $1 billion in Open AI to develop an ethical AI that benefits the whole humankind. To put this in perspective, some experts estimate that Russia pays the same amount for every day of their fights in Ukraine.

The very interest of investors to participate in the development of Open AI suggests that there is much to look forward to. Or worry about?

How quickly will AI take over completely selected human activities? Which professions will completely disappear? Will it rather be the manual or the creative ones? Will humans learn to use AI and work alongside it for the advancement of humanity? Should we be afraid of the RUR scenario? Current predictions are nothing more than crystal ball prophecies. All that is certain is that the future is uncertain. Development is proceeding at lightning speed, so stay tuned – big things are likely to happen soon
