On May 19, 2025, over 300 leaders from business, government, and academia gathered in Prague for ReVize Česka 2025, hosted by Nadační fond Neuron and Forbes Česko. The summit focused on strengthening the Czech Republic’s business environment, attracting talent and investment, and boosting its global relevance.

Siesta Labs was honored to take part, contributing to discussions on how the Czech Republic can lead in sustainable energy and artificial intelligence. We welcomed the chance to connect with others driving innovation across the country.

Opening the event, President Petr Pavel called for greater national resilience. He stressed that energy independence is not just a geopolitical goal, but a strategic necessity, warning that delays in expanding domestic capacity – such as the Dukovany nuclear project – could lead to future shortages and slow economic growth.

Why Community Energy Matters

The urgency of achieving energy independence resonated throughout the summit. Tech entrepreneur Ondřej Vlček warned that without local control over energy, the Czech Republic risks falling behind in the global AI race. He emphasized the deep connection between energy and digital infrastructure, noting that dependence on external power sources undermines national competitiveness in an increasingly AI-driven world.

With global markets volatile and infrastructure costs rising, speakers advocated for decentralized energy systems. Community energy – where municipalities and cooperatives produce and share their own power – was highlighted as a vital part of the solution.

At Siesta Labs, we are proud to contribute to this shift through our partnership with UKEN, which supports Czech municipalities in becoming more sustainable and self-sufficient by using smart tools to manage energy production, consumption, and sharing.

AI Is Changing the Nature of Work

AI is no longer a future concept – it’s already changing how we work, what skills we need, and which roles matter. At ReVize Česka 2025, experts agreed that AI will transform industries from logistics to healthcare, automating routine tasks while opening space for new types of jobs.

According to McKinsey’s 2023 report Generative AI and the Future of Work in America, up to 30% of working hours in the U.S. economy could be automated by 2030. This doesn’t mean mass unemployment – but a shift. Many jobs will evolve, not vanish.

New Jobs, New Skills

AI is also creating roles that didn’t exist a decade ago – AI ethicists, prompt engineers, MLOps specialists – and increasing demand for skills in data, systems oversight, and human-AI collaboration.

Paradoxically, as machines get smarter, human qualities become more valuable: empathy, creativity, critical thinking. These are the traits AI can’t replicate.

What Comes Next?

As ReVize Česka 2025 made clear, the future belongs to those who are ready to build it – with resilient infrastructure, skilled people, and bold ideas. Whether it's through smarter energy systems or responsible AI adoption, Czechia has the tools and talent to lead.

At Siesta Labs, we believe that real innovation starts at the intersection of technology and community.

The future won’t wait. Let’s build it better – together.
